Monthly Reads: July

Wow — I was busy reading in July! You’ll notice that there’s a lot of romance, specifically Alyssa Cole! I’ve mentioned The Happily Ever After Book Club before. It’s a romance book club I run with a colleague (search us up on tpl.ca). A couple months ago we read the first book in one of Cole’s series and it basically led me on this romance journey with the other characters introduced in the first novel. I also read the popular Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams — this is the August title!

And then of course, so many picture books! I read way more than what I’m sharing here, but these were my faves from July.

Most of the picture books are fun, inclusive titles, but A Cat With No Name is a book that deals with grief. It’s so important to recognize that young people experience a wide range of emotions, and they need to see stories reflect the validity of their emotions. This book was achingly-sweet and I highly recommend it!

I hope you’re enjoying your summer. Whether you’re reading yourself, or looking for titles for others, I hope my monthly reads help. And if you are reading, I’d love to add to my own reading list! Share your fave titles in the comments!!
